Privacy policy
How we handle the personal information you send us. Effective October 22, 2026.
Who we are
A&D Woodturning is a family-owned woodturning company at 70 Fulton Way, Unit 203, Richmond Hill, Ontario L4B 1J5. We are responsible for the personal information we collect, and we follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
When you send a request through our contact form, we collect:
- your name, email address and phone number
- your message
- any drawings, photos or PDFs you attach
We do not record your IP address with your request, and we don’t use analytics or advertising trackers on this website.
Why we collect it
We use your information only to answer your request: to reply, prepare a quote, and follow up on the work you asked about. By sending the form, you agree to this use. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we don’t add you to a mailing list.
Who sees it and where it is stored
Your request is emailed to our office and kept in our website’s secure admin area, which only our staff can open with a password. To do this we rely on two service providers:
- Our web host, whose servers are in the United States
- Google Workspace, which handles our email
Because these servers may be outside Canada, your information may be subject to the laws of those countries, including access by their authorities. We share it with no one else, unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep contact requests and their attachments for up to 3 years, so we can refer back to past quotes and orders. After that they are deleted from our website automatically.
How we protect it
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Attached files are stored outside the public part of the website and can only be opened by logged-in staff. Access to the admin area is protected by a password and limited after repeated failed attempts.
Cookies and other websites
Our pages don’t set cookies. When you send the contact form, a temporary cookie limits how many messages can be sent in an hour, to stop spam; it is deleted when you close your browser.
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and the contact page shows a Google Map. When your browser loads them, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy. Links to our Instagram and Facebook pages take you to those sites, which have their own policies.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent at any time, though we may then be unable to complete your quote or order. To do any of this, call us at (905) 889-0836, write to us at the address above (attention: Privacy), or use our contact form. We will reply within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and its effective date.
